History the Kettlebell
A weight with a handle has been around for millennia. You can find handled weights going back to the Greek games. Scottish legend has it that they filled kettles with sand, oil or shot in order to make an adjustable load bearing strength training tool.
The Russians claim the design was used to calibrate scales at farmers markets.
What we do know is they have been used in Russia and the Slavic countries for two hundred years and were quite popular during the turn of the 20th century and are making a huge comeback ... what's old is new again!
