The Tubing TechTimes
The President's Message
Does Your Problem Require a Multi-Layered Solution?

TEEL Plastics has developed our multi-layered tubing (MLT) technology which is often used when an application has performance criterion that's difficult to achieve with a single material. In many instances, MLT can be used to reduce costs or minimize extrusion processing complications for difficult materials.

Many medical applications require tubing that is radiopaque. MLT technology achieves this by adding a thin layer of barium sulfate or other radiopaque fillers to the base material of the tube at a minimal increase in cost.

Automotive fuel systems using plastic tubing are becoming increasingly popular. Our Huls 2030/2040 construction is approved by automotive manufacturers. The EPA has strict guidelines for fuel vapor emissions and a multi-layered tube provides the solution. Low gas permeation is achieved by a MLT construction of nylon-PVDF-nylon. A fourth layer of conductive material is sometimes utilized as well.

Whether your needs are radiopacity, vapor emissions, oxygen permeation, environmental resistance/stability, or mechanical properties, MLT technology could be your answer.

TEEL Plastics extrudes millions of feet of multi-layered tubing each year. Tell us about your problem. Talk with one of our engineers. You'll be surprised at what we can do for you! As always, we appreciate the opportunity to serve you.
